Keloric is a single-player puzzle game developed by Kevin Hillabolt. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is handled.
Keloric does not collect personal data, create accounts, or transmit gameplay data to any server we operate. All progress is stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults.
If you purchase an in-app content pack, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit 2. Kevin Hillabolt does not receive or store payment information.
If you are signed into iCloud on your device, Keloric mirrors your level progress — level identifier, stars earned, ticks to win, sources used, and completion date — to your private CloudKit database. This data lives in your iCloud account, not on our servers. Kevin Hillabolt cannot read, access, or modify it. To opt out, disable iCloud Drive for Keloric in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
If you are signed into Game Center, Keloric submits your daily-challenge streak and endless-mode best score to Apple's Game Center leaderboards, and reports achievement completion (streak milestones and pack completion). This data is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; Kevin Hillabolt receives no personal information through Game Center. To opt out, sign out of Game Center in iOS Settings → Game Center.
Levels you import via paste codes or .keloric files are stored locally in your app's Documents directory. Importing a level does not transmit any data to us or to other users. Levels you create and share contain only the puzzle layout — no personal information.
Starting with version 1.9, Keloric uses PostHog to collect anonymous gameplay analytics that help us tune level difficulty and detect retention issues. The data is not linked to your identity and never includes personal information.
Events captured include: app launches, level starts, level wins (with ticks, sources used, stars), level quits, time-limit fails, daily-challenge completions, endless-mode runs, in-app purchase results, and level imports. Common properties attached to each event are app version, build number, device class (iPhone or iPad), iOS version, and system locale.
Your distinct ID is derived by hashing (SHA-256) Apple's per-vendor device identifier (identifierForVendor). The raw identifier never leaves your device. We do not link this ID to your name, email, Apple ID, Game Center identity, or any other personal information.
You can opt out at any time in the app: Settings → Privacy → Analytics. Opting out immediately disables the SDK, flushes the queue, and resets your distinct ID. No further events are sent.
Analytics events are stored by PostHog under PostHog's privacy policy. Kevin Hillabolt is the sole operator of the PostHog project for Keloric; no third party has access.
Apple may also collect aggregate, anonymized analytics through the App Store if you have opted into sharing analytics with app developers in iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics & Improvements. That data is governed by Apple's privacy policy and is separate from PostHog.
Keloric contains no advertising.
Keloric does not knowingly collect information from children under 13 and contains no features requiring personal data. The app is appropriate for all ages.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at keloric.app/privacy.html with a revised date.
